Headed by the renowned PROF. HOWELL, W.L. SEVERE, J.B. HORNER, J.H. ROBINSON, CARTER SCOTT, LON BULLOCK, ISAAC JEFFRIE, S.R. FRAZIER, GRANT GRIFFITH, F.M. FREEMAN and ladies, made their appearance at the residence of G.B. KESHLEAR on Thursday evening, Jan. 30. They were well loaded with fresh oysters and crackers. MR. and MRS. KESHLEAR were greatly surprised when they said they had come for their supper, they were informed by the hostess that there was nothing in the house to eat but onions and pickles; W.L. SEVERE and PROF. HOWELL who are ever ready to cater the wants of such gatherings said "we have already prepared oysters small and oysters large" so these gentlemen went forth in the dead of night and returned with plenty. PROF. HOWELL, Messrs. SEVERE, ROBINSON and BULLOCK adorned themselves with MRS. KESHLEAR's aprons and took possession of the kitchen and dining room, and I must say the oysters were served in first class Boston oyster house style. The evening was spent very pleasantly, PROF. HOWELL proved to be the champion raw oyster eater, and it is well known that J.B. HORNER has has lst place here-to-fore.
