Garden Grove Express
December 21, 1893
Garden Grove, Iowa

Saturday night four robbers entered HASBROUK's store in Humeston and fitted themselves out with a new suit of clothes, cap, shoes and overshoes. The marshal at Humeston tracked them as far as G. P. ARNOLD's Sunday where he discovered them near a hay stack and securing help bagged all four of them. Sneak thieves and burglars seem to have a pick at Humeston. So far our town has not been molested. We think one reason is that they are afraid of the man and his gun in each of the stores at night for the express purpose of giving such gentry a warm reception.
