A very unfortunate affair and one to be deeply regretted took place two miles south of Humeston Saturday, caused almost entirely by the hasty temper of one of the participants. About a year ago, JOE DARRAH and another man quarreled about some matter and DARRAH who is very quick tempered started to whip the other. His brother, MART DARRAH, interfered and the matter apparently dropped, but for some reason or other JOE DARRAH brooded over it and apparently bore his brother a grudge for his interference. Last Friday both men were in Humeston and JOE got angry over some matter and abused and cursed his brother in what hearers claim was a shameful manner, threatening to get even with him for his interference of a year ago. MART paid no attention to the matter but went about his business. On Saturday morning, MART started to a sale in a buggy and was overtaken by his brother, who jumped out and attacked him with a club. In attempting to ward off the blow MART's left arm was broken. It is a very unfortunate affair and much to be regretted.
