Eighth Grade Commencement - 1924

The commencement exercises of the eighth grade of the Leon Schools was held at the high school auditorium last Wednesday evening when a class of forty graduated from this grade. The officers of the class are WINFORD ADAIR, President; ROBERT LINDSEY, Vice-President; HELEN MCINTOSH, Secretary; DONALD OSBORN, Treasurer. The class motto was "Impossible is Un-American," the class colors, maroon and gold and the class flower, lily of the valley.

The program opened with music by the class and the school orchestra, the salutatory being given by JOSEPHINE BARRY. BOBBY and BILLY LINDSEY played a clarinet duet, there was a vocal solo by OPAL EPPERLEY, the class history was read by VIRGINIA TOWNSEND, a violin solo by CARL LONG, a vocal duet by VIOLA and VELMA STILL. The address to the class was by RALPH A. MCGINNIS, who made a very fine talk. A song by the class and the program closed with the valedictory by DOROTHY JOHNSTON.
