The Third Annual Grand River Alumni meeting was called to order at 1:00 by Mrs. Merna McDowell, president. A return of thanks was given by Clarence Bohall of Lamoni, Iowa after which we enjoyed a bountiful meal.

At 2:00 the group assembled for the business meting. Mrs. McDowell recognized the four oldest graduates present and gave each an Alumni Book.

The roll call of the graduating classes were called and each class stood to be recognized. The teachers present were then recognized as a group.

The minutes of the 1967 financial report was given with a balance of $203.30.

The nominating committee consisting of Elmo Mollison and Ronald Boles presented the names of Donald Adams for president and Mabel (Burchett) Hewlett for secretary and treasurer. These names were unanimously approved by the group.

As there was no further business Mrs. McDowell thanked her committees and co-workers for their cooperation and help for the past year. A motion was made and seconded to adjourn.

The group enjoyed visiting and picture taking before they made their fare-wells and vowed that they would be back again for our next meeting June 1, 1969.

MY HOME TOWN SCHOOL
I like my home town and
Remember it best of all.
Though I have lived in distant
States, Cities, large and small.
I like my home town with -
Shady streets and walks,
Where friendly folks will stop
A task, just for a little talk.

I like my home town, it's
Winding roads, where homes of friends are found
For each I knew - could call their names
All they way to town.
I like my home town for -
Here I went to school
Learned there is much more to
Living than just the "Golden Rule."

I like my home town the
Same as from the start.
Though years have passed and -
Time has left it's mark.
Names are familiar but oh, the
Faces -- years have changed them so.
But, we'll cherish memories of our
Friends of long years ago.

I like my home town, Grand River,
And came back here today -
With others to honor our school
In a devout, sincere way.
We'll renew old acquaintances
And reminisce about the past.
Store away many more memories --
That will have to last and last.
