Uriah McDowell b. April 24, 1818 in Pennsylvania, possibly Adams County. Married Margaret Schlaughenhoupt in York Co., Pa April 1841. Uriah died February 1881 in Decatur County, Iowa. Uriah and Margaret buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. 5 children: David Calvin b. and d. in PA and buried there. Mary Elizabeth m. Jacob Overholtzer, buried Oak Hill Cemetery. Melisa Ann m. Robert Redd, buried Oak Hill Cemetery. Peter Leander m. Elizabeth "Betsey" Gibson, buried Oak Hill Cemetery. Sarah Catherine m. Joseph Gibson, John Gibson, buried Young Cemetery.
