There are four new cases of smallpox in Leon this week, three of them in one family, that of W.P. MARSHALL, whose wife, son and sister are broken out with the disease and his residence was quarantined Monday. The other case if JOHN R. WRIGHT, who travels over the country buying poultry and eggs and he was also quarantined Monday. None of the afflicted ones have any idea where they contracted the disease.

SANFORD REED, the first victim, is now rapidly recovering and will be released from quarantine before many days.

We are glad to learn that the VAUGHN boy, who is under quarantine at the home of his parents in the south part of town, is not a smallpox patient, but is suffering from a bad case of old fashioned itch.
