A group of 20 men representing Pleasanton, Davis City, Leon and Lamoni were received by Gov. George A. Wilson at the state house Monday to discuss the proposed lake which will be located between Davis City and Pleasanton.

The main object in the minds of those going to Des Moines was to discover whether or not the $7,500 allocation made under the democratic regime had been rescinded and whether or not the application had to be made again. The allocation still stood according to the finding of the committee.

Governor Wilson seemed favorable to the project and stated that an investigation would be made by the members of the conservation board and in case they reported unfavorably that he would make a personal investigation. Due to past experience with the board the Decatur county committee feels that the report of the board will be favorable.

The proposed lake site is a 1,200 acre area in southern Decatur county situated so as to be easily reached not alone by residents of our county but all southern Iowa.

Members of the Committee from Lamoni were: A. W. Fleet, Verne L. Deskin, D.A. Dancer, G.N. Bringgs, Ed Downey and Dr. F.L. Shipman.
