John R. Andrews Post No. 487

 
Post Organized.

The old soldiers of Lamoni and vicinity met in Lamoni, Thursday, October 14, with Comrade John Holden of Leon as mustering officer, and proceeded to organize a Post of the G.A.R. with the following officers chosen:

1. E. A. Stedman, Commander.
2. John McElroy, Senior Vice Commander.
3. John Spaulding, Junior Vice Commander.
4. John Smith, Chaplain.
5. Frank Hackett, Quartermaster.
6. Lewis Rhoades, Officer of the Day.
7. George H. Teale, Officer of the Guard.
8. Rufus Gates, Inside Guard.
9. James Blood, Outside Guard.
10. Robert Turner, Adjutant.
11. Ralph G. Spurrier, Sergeant Major.
12. W. H. Barnes, Quartermaster Sergeant.

The Post will be known as John R. Andrews Post No. 487, Department of Iowa.
