          In 1921, a Camp Fire Girls' group was organized in Dallas Center and remained active for several years.  In 1952, the Dallas Center District of Camp Fire Girls was reorganized and has continued to date the the exception of the year 1966.  The local program encompasses 2nd and 3rd grade Blue Birds, 4th, 5th and 6th grade Camp Fire Girls and the 7th and 8th grade junior high girls.  The present membership is 50 girls.  Present leaders are:  Mrs. Jerry Greif, Mrs. Billy Brown, Mrs. Dick Mittag, Mrs. Pat Smith and Mrs. Howard Hadley.  Mrs. Roger Shields is leaders' chairman, Mrs. John McDonald is board chairman.

          The Dallas Center Rotary Club was founded January 23, 1927, with 22 charter members.  Present membership is 30.  Present officers include:  Morris Fox, president;  Orville Dunkin, vice-president;  C. A. Labor, secretary; and Jack Cross, treasurer.

          The Dallas Center Child Study Club was organized in 1927, and continues as a service and study club.  Present officers are:  Mrs. Howard Hadley, president;  Mrs. Billy Brown, vice-president;  and Mrs. Fred Battles, secretary and treasurer.

          United Church Women, organized in 1947, was active until 1964.

          Dallas Center School Club was organized in 1948.  Present officers include:  Wayne Patterson, president;  Fred Battles, vice-president;  Mrs. Jack Cross, secretary;  and Mrs. Howard Bauman, treasurer.  A more detailed account will be found in the chapter on schools.

          The Dallas Center Jaycees were organized November 2, 1964.  Present officers include:  Jim Wisor, president;  Bob Houghtaling, internal vice-president;  Jerry Wright, external vice-president;  James Fox, secretary;  Charles Rhinehart, treasurer;  Jerry Nance, John Stajcar and John Thomas, directors.  It is a service organization for the town interests.

          The Dallas Center Dee Cees were organized in 1968, with 25 members working to help the community as a civic group.  Present officers include:  Pauly Burgher, president;  Shirley Thomas, vice-president;  Jean Wisor, secretary;  and Bernice Nance, treasurer.

          The Dallas Center Boy Scouts had an active organization during the 1920's.  They were reorganized in 1941 and have continued active since, with the exception of a few months in 1963.  Cub Scout Pack 116, Boy Scout Troop 116 and Explorer Scout Post 116, encompass 31 members.  Presently, 11 boys are Eagle Scouts.  Present leaders include:  Bill Andrews, Roger Shields, Harold Stump, Doyle Woods and Billy Brown.

          An attempt has been made to list many of the organizations of the town.  It is brief and incomplete due to lack of available information.  Through the years many other clubs and organizations have been active as there were need for them.  All deserve a share of credit in helping to make our town what it is today.
