A false-front building, prized for its architecture of a by-gone era, which stands at the rear of the W. a. Milburn home at 307 14th street, is probably the oldest business building still in town.  First known as the Bomberger building, it is pictured in this history in the chapter on Postal Matters, when it was located across the street west of the first post office.  It stood just east of the Wall Implement Co., 1501 Walnut.  The picture was taken about 1890 making the building around 80 years old as of 1969.  In 1923, it was moved to the lot just east of the Hoover Lumber Co., where it served as an office for Meyers Oil Co.  Since 1947, it has been at its present location.  Mr. Milburn has used it for seed corn storage and presently as a hobby shop housing many interesting antiques.

The following is from a manuscript taken from the cornerstone of the Presbyterian church and printed in the Dallas Center Times, June 26, 1913.  This list establishes the population of Dallas Center at 170, Jun 2, 1871, and hopefully includes all of the early residents of the town.
