| His full name was Lewis Howard Hardenbrook. He was
married to Elizabeth Leach. They were from Madison, Indiana. She died
there in 1889. He came to Iowa to be with his son John Huse Hardenbrook
also a civil war vet buried in Linden, Iowa. Lewis was in the Mexican
War also. He had a son also named Lewis Hardenbrook who died at
Missionary Ridge in Tenn. He died of gangrene in Rippey, Iowa. Buried in
