Located in section 16, Spring Valley Twp. near Perry, actually
west of the Panther blacktop and right south of Perry.
It is on the west bank of Frog Creek and the road across the front was the pioneer stage road from Des Moines to Jefferson. A school house was on the site originally. One of the pupils was badly burned at her home and requested to be buried in the school yard. This started the cemetery before Perry was founded. Mary Roberts, daughter of J.H. & M.E. Roberts, died Feb. 11, 1865, 7 yrs 9 mo 20 days. Mr. Roberts came to Dallas County in 1854. There are approximately 45 stones. It is beautifully maintained and most stones are in good shape.
