That Adel Rest Room.

A week or so ago the Freeman-Tribune, in discussing the Webster City rest room proposition, observed that they had a rest room in Adel, this state, supported by the county. This called forth a letter from Dr. Barkalow to the Ellsworth News, in which the doctor scouted the idea of a rest room in Adel, and claimed to have lived in Adel the past ten years. Just what the animus that prompted the doctor to write such a letter the Freeman-Tribune doesn't know, but it does know that he is either ignorant of the facts or purposely misrepresented them. Here is what the county auditor of Dallas county says of the matter:

Eds. Freeman-Tribune: The clipping from the Freeman-Tribune in regard to the ladies rest room in the Dallas county court house, located at Adel, is substantially correct, being open during the day time, but not at night. The county maintains the rooms and toilet for ladies. It is well furnished with rugs, easy chairs, couch, table, etc. Of course Dr. Barkalow is technically correct, as Adel does not have a rest room other than the one furnished and supported by the county in the court house located in the town of Adel, but all ladies are welcome to and do use these rooms and for all intents and purposes are just the same as a rest room in the town furnished by the citizens of the town. Your statement is correct in regard to the rest room.
