Schedule subscribed by me, this Twenty sixth day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty.

I, James D. Bowen assistant to the Marshall do solemnly swear (or affirm) that the number of persons set forth in
the return made by me, agreeably to the provision of the "An act to provide for taking the Sixth Census or
Enumeration of the Inhabitants of the United States," have been ascertained by actual inquiry at every
dwelling-house, or a personal inquiry of the head of every family, in exact conformity with the provisions
of said act; and that I have, in every respect, fulfilled the duties required of me by said act, to the best
of my abilities; and that the return aforesaid is correct and true, according to the best of my knowledge and belief.

Be it remembered that on the twenty sixth day of August, 1840 came before me James D. Bowen a resident in the
County of Clinton, District of Iowa, an Assistant to the Marshall of the District of Iowa for performing the
duties prescribed by the act of Congress to provide for taking the Sixth Census or Enumeration of the Inhabitants
of the United States, and for other purposes, and took, and in my presence subscribed, the above oath.
