A. B. Albrecht, merchant, Osborne, was born in Clayton County, Iowa, May, 1 1862. He was reared on a farm, and received a common-school education. Prior to engaging in the mercantile business, he followed the butcher's trade three years. His sister, Miss Maria Albrecht, is in partnership with him. She was born Sept. 14, 1857, in Manitowoc County, Wis., and came to Clayton County in the spring of 1879. She opened a millinery store in Volga City in 1881, which she disposed of the same year, and removed to Osborne, when the present partnership with her brother was formed. They kept a full and complete line of general merchandise, and have a steadily increasing trade. Their parents are Ferdinand and Caroline Albrecht, nee Meder.
