Jens Jenson Parents:

Jorgan Jenson b.1830 d.1896
Kari Knutson b.1830 d.1913
Jorgan and Kari lived in Moss, Norway. He came to the US in 1888. Jorgan and Kari’s sons, Jens and Christian, were Norwegian sailors and had come to the US before Jorgan and Kari. Augusta sent passage in 1888 for the family to come to the US.  They settled on the Turkey River, Clayton County Iowa, near Torkel’s farm.  Jorgen and Kari had 5 children:
Jens – b. 9/10/1852
Christian – b.1856 (moved to Australia and changed name to Smith)
Augusta – b.1868 (moved to California & changed name to Gussie Smith)
Mari (Marie) – b.1854 d.1924 (Mari was a midget)
Mari’s twin that died at birth
