Benjamin Burlingame family, ca1895

Benjamin Burlingame was born in Holden, Mass. in 1867. His father, Alonzo Burlingame died in Clayton county in 1891. Ben married Elizabeth Kostal Bohonek. Her son Edward, was from her marriage to Adolph Bohonek and was adopted by Ben Burlingame. Benjamin & Elizabeth had three other children, the youngest, Mamie, was born in 1894 and died in 1906 at the age of 11.

Ed Burlingame Edward 'Ed' (born Bohonek) Burlingame was born in 1885 and lived to the age of 100. He married Elizabeth Dueringer in Montana. Elizabeth was a Montana native.

Alonzo Burlingame Alonzo Burlingame was born in 1892. He ran a store in Froelich for many years. He married Meta Fett and they had a daughter Irene.

Jacob 'Jake' Tayek & Marjorie Burlingame wedding Other than the bride and groom, most of the people in this wedding photo are not identified. The arrow (left side) is pointing to Katherine Kostal Bohonek (aunt of the bride). The mother of the bride, Elizabeth Kostal Burlingame, is standing next to her daughter. Jake & Marjorie Tayek with their son Reuben This photo is probably circa 1915. Reuben was born in 1909. Their other son, Robert was not yet born.

This photo includes the only image I have of Marie 'Mary' Marovec Kostal, wife of Matthias Kostal.

Marjorie Burlingame is holding her son Reuben. Beside her is her mother, Elizabeth Burlingame, and on the right is Mary Kostal.

Burlingame family picnic

Not everyone is identified in the family photo. The man in bib overalls is Ben Burlingame. He was killed by a bull in 1929, so the photo predates that. On Ben's left is Alonzo Burlingame with his arm around his uncle Mathias Kostle. The man holding the small child to the Ben's right may be Jake Tayek and son Robert. Robert was born in 1923 and lived for a time with his grandparents after Marjorie died. The man in front right clutching his left arm is Ed Burlingame. I think that's his son Bernard on his left. Bernard died in 1931 of a burst appendix. Many of the kids surrounding Ed Burlingame are probably his. Elizabeth Burlingame is directly above the hugging girls and Elizabeth (Dueringer) Burlingame, Ed's wife, is at the extreme left. Somewhere in this group is probably Matt Kostle's wife, Elizabeth (Baumgartner) and Meta Fett, Alonzo Burlingame's wife.
