Four generations of a Dubuqueland family, the ages ranging from three to 74 years, are shown above. Seated is the great grandmother, Mrs. Louise Groth, 74, of Guttenberg, Ia., holding her great granddaughter, Louise Barnhart, 3. Standing at the left is Mrs. Clyde Barnhart, 54, of Garber, Ia., the grandmother and at her right is her son, Wilson Barnhart, 26, of Colesburg, Ia., father of Louise.

Notes from the contributor:
The surname Barnhard appears to be interchangable with Barnhart depending on the record. Clyde's baptism record spells the surname Barnhard, but several years of census records & other documents have Barnhart.

Louise (Seeman) Groth was the wife of Fred Groth who died in 1914. Louise died in 1946. They are buried in the Guttenberg City cemetery.

Their daughter Elizabeth 'Lizzie', was married to Alton 'Clyde' Barnhard, and their son Wilson, was married to Letha M. Brown.
