I believe the bell tower of the Elkport school can be seen on the left through the trees, the cemetery is to the right and above the Immanuel Hope Lutheran church. The Catholic church is on the right.

S.P. Wadley's Cream Station, flood 1908
S.P. Wadley's Cream Station
Elkport flood, July 27, 1908

Written on the back of the postcard:
"A view of our late flood here. Had four feet and 8 inches of water in my cream station. Got up early and moved all the stuff out before water was up too high. Didn't give me much time. The ink mark in our door shows how high it was. This picture was taken when the water was low. Our garden stuff was all drowned."

The postcard was addressed to Miss Tillie Hohmam at an Elkader address. Writer unknown, perhaps S.P. Wadley?
