Students Comment on Best Features of New School
People
of Cherokee and surrounding towns are expressing many comments about
the beautiful, new Washington High. To get the student’s view of the
new structure, we asked them “What do you like best about Washington
High and why?” Here are their comments:
Marilyn Halstrom: “Being all on one floor instead of having to up and down stairs for different classes."
Chuck Peterson: “The bell that rings at thirteen minutes to four. Then I can go to football practice.”
Mary Jane Van Amberg: “I think the furniture is very pretty. I also like the lockers which have quite a bit of room in them."

classes…I like best. Next best is the interior looks are so much nicer
than Wilson’s.”
LaDonna Adamson: “I like …just three classes in the …school.”

Ranney: “The best think I like about Washington High …fifth period,
because you …anything in that class. I like Washington High better than
Wilson High because it is a better…and more suitable for us."

Lauer: “I like everything about Washington High. It’s a beautiful
building, you do…going to school. It seems … be where it’s quiet and
…racing by about every two …The lockers are so spacious and the
furniture is so comfortable. It’s really swell.”

Larry Johnson: “The thir…most about the school is …pencil sharpeners.”
Mary Lou Byouer: “I like …the class periods are …We have homeroom once…and we get out of school…”
Pat Derksen: “It’s a new school and we will be the first to graduate from it.”
Jim Light: “The location I like, because it’s so close to where I live.”
Darlene Clement: “The lockers give you plenty of room to store your junk.”
Bob Cuffel: “The smoke that the radiators make so teachers can’t see you talking.”
Velda Maffin: “The nice sidewalk to school.”
