FAMILY
Surname is Cottrell.  My Great-Great Granddad Andrew Jackson Cottrell was born in Greene County Ohio 04/15/1829.  Moved with his parents to Berrien Co. Mich in 1845.  Married Martha Jane Wray 10/30/1853 in Buchanan Mich & was a carpenter. 

He moved to Rock Grove City in Floyd Co. Iowa 1859 where he built houses.  He served with the 9th Iowa Volunteer Cavalry Co. C. during Civil War.  He moved to Clear Lake Iowa 1869 where he built houses.  Then moved to a farm 1 mile S. W. of Fertile Iowa 1883.  Died 08/15/1895 on farm.  Buried at Clear Lake Cem.  His parents were George Birdwell Cottrell & Hepzabeth {Noggle} Cottrell.  Hepzabeth died in Plymouth Iowa 03/19/1879 & is also buried at Clear Lake.  George died 03/04/1884 in Jackson Mich and is buried in Three Rivers Mich.

George started trying to get this Pension in 1877 & finally received it 07/31/1883.  It was for $8 a month and he died 7 months later on 03/04/1884.
