E. S. HOLTON

Earl Similey Holton of Anita, whose cut appears herewith, is a candidate for the republican nomination for County Attorney, subject to the decision of the voters of that party at the primaries to be held June 3rd.

Mr. Holton was born April 4th, 1880, and was raised in the vicinity of Anita on a farm where he spent the earlier part of his life. When he was twelve years old his father died, and he being the eldest son, assisted his mother in running the farm, the responsibilities thus thrust upon him, aiding in moulding the splendid manhood which has made him popular wherever he is known.

Mr. Holton attended the Anita High School and was graduated therefrom, took a literary course at Highland Park College and for a number of years taught school. He studied law in the law department of Drake University, from which he graduated in 1910, and for two years has practiced law at Anita, devoting in addition part of his time to the office he maintains at Massena.

Mr. Holton, in and out of his profession, is a genial gentleman, cleanly in his life and honest and square in his relations with his fellows. He has always been a republican and a believer in republican principles. He is of Scotch and French descent and combines in his splendid character the best of the characteristics of those two nationalities.

Mr. Holton's candidacy is meeting with a goodly support and in every sense he is a strong candidate. Honest, clean and with a world of energy, if nominated and elected to the office he seeks, he will give to the discharge of his duties the best there is in him and will serve with credit to himself and his party.
