H. A. Junod
This is a likeness of one of the foremost enterprising and progressing citizens of Carroll County. He has been a member of the firm of Junod & Culbertson for the past ten years. Mr. Junod was born in Athens County, Ohio September 15th, 1854. He acquired his early education in the district schools. Giving up school teaching he embarked in the Lumber Business and later was connected with the General Merchandise Business after which he acted as salesman for the Sunday Creek Valley Coal Company. In 1885 he came to Carroll associating himself with Mr. E. D. Vorhees engaging in the Grain and Coal Business. In 1887 Mr. R. V. Culbertson purchased the interest of Mr. Vorhees and the firm became Junod & Colbertson under which caption it still remains.

Dr. A. Kessler
We have the pleasure of presenting herewith an excellent portrait of one of the leading professional men of Carroll County, Dr. A. Kessler. He was born in Johnson County, Iowa in 1858. At the age of one year his parents removed to Michigan where they resided for seven years when they returned to their native home in Iowa where they lived until our subject attained the age of thirteen when they returned to Cass county. Mr. Kessler is a graduate of the State University, attended college of Physicians at Chicago and the Hospital College of Medicine at Louisville, Kentucky, where his diploma was marked "Distinguished."
He came to Carroll in 1889 and is obtaining a splendid practice.
