December 15, 1917.  Mechanic, 12th Aero Squadron.  Trained Camp Grant; at Kelly Field; to Camp Merritt.  Sailed for France May 15, 1918.  In France assigned, at a mechanic with the 12th Aero Squadron; served in four battles: Champagne-Marne defensive; Aisne-Marne offensive; St. Mihiel offensive; Meuse-Argonne offensive.  After armistice was ordered to Coblenz with Army of Occupation.  Sailed May, 1919; landed in U. S.  Sailed from St. Nazaire May 6 on Powhatan; landed Newport News May 21.  To Hampton Roads; to Fort Sheridan; to Camp Dodge.  Mustered out July 5, 1919.
