IBSEN, CLYDE

Storm Lake

 

Born July 17, 1895.  Enl. August 9, 1917.  Pvt. 1st-cl. Co. F, 21st Engrs. Light Railway, 8th French Brig. 42, 77, 26, 5, and 2d Divs.  Trained at Camp Grant.  Landed in France December 6, 1917, for 18 months. 17 days in French service.  Only authorized light railway or narrow guage R. R. Regt. in France; the track gauge was 23 in. in width and was used to transport ammunition supplies, artillery, and troops from the standard guage railhead to the trenches; two classes of motive power were used -- steam 5 to 15 kilos, behind the lines, and gas tractors were used immediately behind the lines; regiment was well scattered over the entire French and American fighting lines and took part in every battle by the French and Americans from December 20, 1917, until the armistice was signed.  Mustered out June 20, 1919.

 

 

 

 

INGRAM, FLOYD M.

Lee Township

 

Born January 19, 1897.  Enl. August 3, 1918.  Striker in Aviation Section of Navy, Second, Third, and Fifth Regts.  Trained at Charleston August to November 15, 1918; Norfolk November 15 to January 15.  Mustered out at G. L. N. T. S. January 28, 1919.

Born July 1, 1896.  Enl. October 28, 1918.  Master Mechanic in Aviation Section of Navy.  Trained at G. L. N. T. S.  Mustered out December 23, 1918.  (no photo)
