John BRISBIN was reportedly living in Buffalo Grove Twp Buchanan Co IA in 1860, and probably died thereafter in Buffalo Grove. He died by 1879. His wife was Philander (TAYLOR) Brisbin. I only have the names of Robert Copeland, Dewey (DeWitt Shannon) Copeland, Maude Gritton, Eliza McGonigle, and Amasa Gritton. To my knowledge all of our family lived in Independence and a place called Pine Creek. My Great-Great Grandfather, Robert H. Copeland was in Co. D, 15th Ia. Other children born to the CRAMER family were Mary E., Dewitt L., Simon S., Julia E., and Elmer E.. I am trying to find the marriage of my ancestor Dr. William Emile Cramer to Mary Christina ? Looking for Elizabeth FUHRMANN b. 3 Oct 1869 in Otterville, Iowa, d. 15 Aug 1954 Fairburn, SD. Elizabeth m. John Welsey SMITH of Franklin Co., MO, both moving to Fairburn South Dakota and died there. Elizabeth's parents were Martin FUHRMANN (b.1811 Winten, Austria) and Anna (?, Austria-Hungary). They settled in Otterville and then moved to South Dakota where they died. We believe there were a number of children but have no names. We believe a daughter Rose married a Jimmy Hannan and they farmed near Hazelton, Iowa. There may have been a Paul Holtz. Hello, I am looking for information on out great-great-grandparents, Bernard and (K)Catherine Hanson. They were both born about 1801 in Germany and came to Iowa in 1852, settling in Cox Creek area, Iowa. They had 3 children: Susanna Hanson Olinger, Peter Hanson and Barney Hanson. I have been told that they, Bernard and Catherine, were buried at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Independence, Iowa (pat 4, block 3, plot 4). Bernard died March 3, 1884, and Catherine Feb 15, 1875. Is there any chance that you are related to them? If not, do you know of someone who could help me find out more about them. I am planning on getting their death certificates in hopes of obtaining their parents' names. I hope that we have a link or you can give me some other options on what I can do next. Obadiah Chase MILLER was born 18 Apr 1838 in Ithaca, Tompkins, NY the son of Elijah MILLER and Betsey HORTON. He had 2 brothers that we know of: Benjamin H. MILLER who married Lucy and Cornelious (Neal) Miller, b. 1854 who married Lavina. Obadiah Chase Miller served in the Civil War and married LuCelia Estella FOLLETT. They moved to New Milford (Rockford), Winnebago, Illinois to Waterloo, Iowa, and then back to New Milford, IL and back to Waterloo. For a while they lived in Buchanan County, Iowa because they were there when LuCelia's father applied for his Civil War Pension. In 1897 they moved to Belmont, Dawes, NE where they remained. Their children include: 1)John Burdett MILLER , b. 9 Sep 1865 in Rockford, Winnebago, IL --d. 4 Mar 1934 --m. Looking for information on Nicholas Pelleymounter, who lived in Freemont Township, Buchanan County in the 1870 census. His wife was named Caroline, and they had children: Catherine, Mary, Marsha, Robert and John. That's all that have been found for now. They came from Jo Daviess County, Illinois in the 1860s.
