Jone Pederson, b. 11. aug 1853 at the Byrkja farm, Aardal, Hjelmeland, Rogaland, Norway, emi 1872, married twice: 1. Hanna Johnson Berkland, b. Ca 1862 in Norway, perhaps died before 1900. 2. Ingeborg "Isabelle", b. Ca. Sept 1860 in Norway. Jone did use name John P. Burke in America. He died 30 june 1925 in Des Moines.

Peter become the father of Peter 1885-1906 and Anna 1892-1910. Probably Hannah was their mother.
I'm looking for the cemetery, perhaps in Wright county, where the family are burried.
Anyone knows the birthdates and place of birth for his 2 wifes! When and where did they die, probably in Iowa.
Thank you!

I'm not related -
John P Burke married Hannah Johnson Feb 27, 1885 in Livingston County, Illinois - His parents shown as Peter Burke and Anne Burke; her parents shown as G. Johnson & Julia Johnson. John was 31, and Hanna(h) was 18.

I found a birth/bapt record for a Peder Annanias Piberg (Burke) b. Jan 20, 1886, bapt Mar 5 1886; father John Piberg (Burke), and mother Johanna. This is in Rooks Creek, Livingston County, Illinois Luth. church records.

I also find a birth/bapt record for a Josep. Cornelius Burke, born Jan 7 1887, bapt Feb 13, 1887, to John Pedersen Burke and Johanna P. Burke. This is in the Rooks Creek, Livingston Co. Illinois Lutheran Church records.

Also found in church records:
Johanna Burke died Dec. 25 1887

On Feb 22, 1891 John married Ingeborg G. Askildson, also in Livingston Co., IL
His parents shown as Per Pedersen and Anna Johnson. Her parents shown as A. B. Askildson and Ester Olsen. (Lots of the Askildson family came to the US - Later shown with surname Berkland.)

Ingeborg also went by Isabell and was the mother of Anna Burke who was born in Iowa.

The Burke's are found in Palo Alto County, towns of Fenton, Cylinder, & Independence Township before they moved to Eagle Grove.

According to Findagrave, John is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Wright County Iowa.

After John's death, Isabell remarried on May 17, 1933 to Ben H. Benson in Eagle Grove.

According to findagrave, Ingbor Isabel Benson b. Sept 13, 1860 in Norway & died June 18, 1945 in Fenton, Kossuth County, Iowa. She and Ben are buried at North Saint Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Cylinder, Palo Alto County, Iowa.

Thank you very much, indeed!
Then I think Hanna Berke ca 1862-1887 must have been burried in Illinois somewhere. I think she was the Berkland?
I did find Ingeborg "Isabell" Askildson born at the Bryningsland farm, Helleland, Rogaland, Norway.

Hannah/Johanna was a Johnson, who according to the church marriage record was born about 1867. I'm fairly sure she is buried in the Pontiac or Rooks Township area in Livingston County, Illinois. Her father was listed as G. Johnson, and mother of Julia. No idea what the G. stood for.

Isabell Askildson was the family that adopted the Berkland/Birkland surname in America.

Meant to tell you, John P Burke and Isabell traveled to Stavanger in 1923 to visit. They left NY on May 8, 1923 for Stavanger. They arrived back in NY on 25 Sep 1923 on board the Stavangerfjord sailing from Stavanger to NY City.
