Roy Benjamin Hall
2 November 1900 ---- 22 January 1993

Roy Benjamin Hall was born on November 2, 1900, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Julia Etta Cronin Hall, at Thompson, N.D. He received his education in Ellsworth, Iowa country school.

He was united in marriage to Denise Marcella Gordon of Nashua on September 29, 1934 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove, Iowa where Roy operated the Diamond Brothers Grocery until 1955. They moved to Mason City before returning to Eagle Grove in 1965. Mrs. Hall passed away on Oct. 13, 1982.

Following his wife's death, Roy moved to the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove where he passed away on January 22, 1993. He had attained the age of 92 years, two months, and 20 days.

He leaves in passing his daughter, Mary (Mrs. Thomas) Dutcher of Red Oak, Iowa; one brother, Clarence John Hall of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Allison and Leslie. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; wife; four brothers: Joe Earl, Charles Leo, James Vernice, and Franklin Emett Hall. Also preceding Roy in death were his three sisters, Iva Cecelia Hall, Etta Hadden, Frances Hall, and Margaret Kennedy.

He was the oldest living member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. He was a 72-year member of the Knights of Columbus, and at one time served as Grand Knight.

Funeral services for Roy Benjamin Hall were held on Tuesday, January 25, 1993, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eagle Grove. The Reverend Wayne Droessler officiated the 11 a.m. services and burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services were in charge of arrangements.
