Otis Jerene Hanson
5 April 1910 ---- 7 February 1991

Otis Jerene Hanson was born April 5, 1910, the son of Martin and Carrie Lilleskau Hanson at Jewell. He received his education in Jewell, graduating from Jewell High School in 1940. Following high school, he attended Mankato College, Mankato, Minn,, for a period of two years. He spent his adult life farming in the Charles City area, until retiring in 1970. He lived in Kansas City, Mo., for two years with his sister, Leone. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1972. He was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell.

Otis Hanson died at his home in Eagle Grove, February 7, 1991, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and two days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-father, Thomas Reinertson. He is survived by one sister, Leone Hanson, Eagle Grove; three step sisters, Mrs. Robert (Pearl) Evans, Hamilton, Ohio; Mrs. Larry (Evelyn) Lewis, Aitken, Ark.; and Wilma Humphrey, Garden Grove, Calif.; and four step nieces.

Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove; February 9, with the Rev. Lyle Peters officiating at the 2 p.m. service. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
