Duane Richard Jorgensen
6 December 1929 ---- 7 September 1987

Duane Richard Jorgensen was born December 6, 1929, at Eagle Grove, the son of Howard and Lorraine Jeanette Brown Jorgensen. He attended rural Troy Township school and graduated from the Eagle
Grove High School with the class of 1948. Duane served in the United States Army from August 1951 to June 1953 with services in Korea.

He was united in marriage to Marlene Amonson of Eagle Grove on May 1, 1955, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple returned to Eagle Grove to make their home where Duane was employed by the government with the ASCS before working for the Farmers Co-op Elevator in Eagle Grove. He and his brothers owned and operated Jorgensen's "66" until 1977. Duane farmed after the closing of the service station, until he retired in 1984.

Duane had been in ill health suffering from emphysema, and died at his home Monday, September 7, 1987, at the age of 57 years, nine months, and one day. He was preceded in death by his mother
He is survived by his wife, Marlene of Eagle Grove, son, Scott of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Patricia) Grandgeorge of California City, Calif; two grandchildren; his father, Howard Jorgensen of Eagle Grove; and four brothers, Paul, Rodney, Donald, and Dale, all of Eagle Grove.

Duane was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Services were held at 1:30 (Thursday, September 10) at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The Reverend Carlton Shaw officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
