____________________________________________________________

The death of Mrs. Julia Brackett, Tuesday, has cast a gloom over this community. Mrs. Brackett was ill a very short time, having contracted poison from patients she had been attending in her duties as a professional nurse. Her illness seemed fatal from the first, though every attention and care from loving friends and physicians was given her. Mrs. Brackett will be greatly missed and mourned by many friends and relatives. Her cheerful, sunny disposition and kindly Christian character made friends for her of all who knew her.

Since the death of her husband, Dr. A. B. Brackett, about ten years ago, Mrs. B. has continued living at the old home, having with her part of the time her parents and her sister. Her father died in her home last winter. Dr. and Mrs. Brackett were pioneers in this part of the county. Dr. Brackett's practice among the early settlers was extended. Mrs. Brackett has spent a great deal of time since the doctor's death nursing. Her sister, Mrs. W. V. Palmer and husband have spent the last few years living in her home with her. They gave Mrs. Brackett the most tender care during her illness but of no avail.

The funeral services will be held Saturday. A number of relatives from California and other States will be in attendance. The heartfelt sympathy of many is extended to the mother, brothers and sisters of the deceased. –Goldfield
