Farrell Edward Robinson (1913-1979)

Farrell Edward Robinson passed away Saturday, July 6, 1979, at the age of 66 in the Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge. He was hospitalized July 3.

Farrell was born May 17, 1913, in Eagle Grove to Orange L. and Effie Wagner Robinson. He received his schooling in Eagle Grove. On June 17, 1935, he was united in marriage to Fern Pletcher of Goldfield in Faribault, Minn. This union was blessed with two sons, Lee and John Rex. After they were married, they lived on a farm outside of Goldfield. Farrell was employed as a farm laborer. During WW II they lived in San Diego, Calif. and he worked at Consolidated Aircraft. After the war they moved to Thor where he worked as a plumber for four years. Then he became employed by Oldson Plumbing and worked there for 28 years. In November of 1977 he became very ill and was unable to work. In May of 1978 he went back to work part time.

Survivors are: his wife; one son, Lee Robinson of Mason City; one brother, Lloyed [Loyd] Robinson, Clarion; one sister, Mrs. Serena Marshall, Woolstock; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, John Rex.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church, Goldfield. Rev. William McConnelee officiated and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery. –The Goldfield Chronicle
