December 30, 1954 --– September 21, 2021

Jimmy Lee Grice, age 66, of Norwalk, Iowa. Son of Wallace and Letha (Hohensee) Littell was born on December 30, 1954 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1974. On October 29, 1994, Jim married Martha (Stansbury) Eschliman. They continued to live in and around Norwalk. Jim retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 2015 after 41 years. He enjoyed anything outside, especially hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with the grandchildren.

Coming into their lives as young boys, Tony and Dustin learned Jim's love of the outdoors, and Jim loved them as if they were his own. Jim passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Mercy One Hospice, Johnston, Iowa at the age of 66 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul Grice, brother-in-law George Stansbury and infant grandson Landon Dale Eschliman. Survivors include his wife, Martha, sons; Tony (Amy Smolucha) Eschliman of North Liberty, Iowa and Dustin Eschliman of Des Moines; Iowa, grandchildren, Emma, Finn, Isabelle, Olivia, Irelyn, Allana, Korbon Eschliman and Kenna Shanahan; Sisters-in-law Vickie Grice of Kansas City, Missouri and Jeanine Stansbury of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Brother-in-law, David Stansbury of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Sister-in-Law Mary (Tim) Swalin of Eagle Grove, Iowa; Aunts, Althea Betten, Carol Hohensee and Betty Hohensee and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a visitation, Friday, September 24th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines followed by the service at 11:00 am with lunch to follow at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Eagle Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
