Memorial Services for Carl S. Hobbet, McHenry, who died Monday evening, May 11, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Mathews Lutheran Church, Old McHenry Road, Lake Zurich.

Mr, Hobbet, prior to his retirement, was executive vice president and general manager of the Credit Bureau of Cook County, Inc., served as Secretary of the Consumer Credit Association of Chicago and was named Credit Man of the Year, April of 1970. He was past director of the International Consumer Credit Association, Director of Associated Credit Bureaus, Inc. and also served as a member of the Chicago Mayor's Committee on Human Relations. He was currently co-principal of the Credit Bureau of McHenry County located in Woodstock.

Surviving are his widow, Polly; three daughters. Mrs. Carleine Straka, Wheaton, Mrs. Diane Burt, Glen Ellyn, and Mrs. Catherine Sabbia, Westchester; and nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ann Ganong, Northampton, Mass., and Mrs. Selma Carlson, Jamestown, N.Y.

The family requests that no flowers be sent. Those who wish may send contributions to the American Cancer Society for research. Friends may call at the Hobbet home on Thursday and Friday.

Services for Carl S. Hobbet, 68, former general manager and vice president of the Credit Bureau of Cook county, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday in St. Matthew's Lutheran church, Lake Zurich.

Mr. Hobbet, who retired from the bureau in 1964, died Monday in Lutheran General hospital, Park Ridge. A McHenry resident, he leaves his widow, Polly; two daughters, Mrs. Carleine Straka and Mrs. Diane Burt; seven grandchildren; and two sisters.

Word was received Tuesday of the death of Carl Hobbet of McHenry, Illinois, a former Eagle Grove resident, which occurred Monday. He had been ill for some time.

Last June, Carl was here for the reunion of the Class of 1919 and at that time was apparently in good health.

He is survived by by his wife; two daughters by a previous marriage and two sisters: Mrs. Anne Ganong of North Hampton, Massachusetts and Mrs. Selma Carlson of Jamestown, New York.
