Ora Rachel Xanders Morrow
3 July 1895 ---- 22 December 1974

Ora Rachel Xanders was born July 3, 1895, at West Salem, Ill., the daughter of Al and Hannah Rehr Xanders. She attended school at West Salem. She was united in marriage to Ralph H. Morrow of Waterloo, Ia., March 14, 1924, at Waterloo. Mrs. Morrow was a cook in the cafeteria of Rath Packing Co., Waterloo, for a number of years. In 1943, they moved to Eagle Grove, where they operated the M & M Cafe, and later the Big Dipper, and the Chicken Basket. Since that time, she had cooked for many of the local restaurants.

Mr. Morrow passed away in 1960. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in March of this year and entered the Rotary Ann Home on the 1st of April. She died there on Sunday, December 22, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 19 days.

She is survived by three brothers: Clarence Xanders, Renwick; Edgar Xanders, Clarion; Woodrow Xanders, Eagle Grove; and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Askvig, Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death
by her parents, husband and one brother, Glenn, and one sister, Opal Hanson.

Mrs. Morrow was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 24, 1974, at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Glazier officiated and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
