Donald Roy Bell
28 July 1938 --- 10 December 1999

Donald Roy Bell was born on July 28, 1938 at Blairsburg, Iowa, to Melvin and Mary Fowler Bell. He was united in marriage to Judy Berhow on June 10, 1960, at Thor, Iowa. He graduated from Goldfield High School in Goldfield, Iowa, in 1956, and Eagle Grove Junior College in Eagle Grove, Iowa, in 1958. He worked for Georgia Pacific as an electrician for 38 years. He was a member of the Thor Lutheran Church and the Oakridge Golf and Recreation Association.

Donald Roy Bell died Friday, December 10, 1999, at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center, Fort Dodge, Iowa, at the age of 61. He is survived by his wife, Judy, Thor; two sons, Donald "Bud," Jr., and wife, Jackie, Thor, and James and and his wife, Cindy, Fort Dodge; one daughter, Cynthia and husband, Randy Kopp, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren; two brothers, Laverne and wife, Clara, Woolstock, Iowa, and Bernard and wife, Michelle, Algona, Iowa; four sisters, Lavonna Rifen, Phoenix, Ariz., Barb Schaumburg, and husband, LeRoy, Clarion, Iowa, Mary Carney, and husband Charles, San Marcos, Calif., and Carolyn Cartwright, and husband, Paul, Memphis, Tenn.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Bell, Joplin, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Reverend Robert Bell; and a brother-in-law, Dwayne Rifen.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 13, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor with Reverend Dale Jenson officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
