Carl Oscar Collins
31 March 1911 --- 11 April 1985

Carl Oscar Collins, the son of William and Lura Paulley Collins, was born on March 31, 1911, at Powersville, Mo. As a young man, he came to Iowa and was employed as a farmhand. He was united in marriage with Etta Nielsen on December 24, 1937, at Fort Dodge. The couple lived and farmed southwest of Eagle Grove until 1960, when they moved to Eagle Grove. For several years he was employed in the construction business and was a cement finisher. He had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove for the past several years. He died at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge early Thursday morning, April 11, 1985, at the age of 74 years and 11 days.

He is survived by his wife, Etta Collins of Eagle Grove; three sisters, Lura, Mrs. Dale Walt of Harris, Mo.; Clara, Mrs. Oscar Hagen of Orlando, Fla.; Mary Morrison of Unionville, Mo.; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Myrtle Warren and Iva Woodley; an infant brother and a brother, Laurel Collins.

Funeral services for Carl O. Collins, 74, Eagle Grove, were held on Saturday, April 13, 1985, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Rev. Ernest Lautt, pastor of the Eagle Grove Baptist Church, officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Friday at the funeral home.
