Clemence Berlyn (Morrison) Woodke
11 April 1911 --- 23 July 1986

Clemence Berlynn Morrison was born April 11, 1911, at Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Warren and Edith Dawley Morrison. She was educated in the public schools at Charles City, graduating from high school in 1929. In 1933, she graduated from Cornell College at Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and began her teaching career.

She was united in marriage to Adelbert Woodke at Waycross, Ga., a member of the U.S. Army Air Force Band, on June 21, 1943. She continued to teach until her husband was discharged from service, and they came to Eagle Grove to make their home in 1946. Mr. Woodke was employed by the City of Eagle Grove until his death Feb. 22, 1974. Bea continued to make her home in Eagle Grove until her death on July 23, 1986, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn., at the age of 75 years, three months and 11 days.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She was a past member of the United Methodist Church and AAUW of Charles City and while living in Eagle Grove was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Cecelian Club, Equality Club, Fort Dodge Area Symphony, Ames International Orchestra, Festival Association, Heritage Presidents Club of Cornell College, D A V Auxiliary of Webster County No. 29, and Webster County Retired Teachers Association.

Funeral services were held for Clemence Berlynn Woodke, 75, Saturday, July 26, 1986, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Kenneth R. Reiter, pastor of the United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove, officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
