MYRTLE ALICE BETHELL
Myrtle Alice Rasmussen was born September 6,  1906, the daughter of Carl and Kaaran Nielsen Rasmussen in Wright County. She attended rural Holmes Country School and later Eagle Grove High School, Eagle Grove. She was united in marriage to Theodore Bethell of Clarion on January 12, 1926, at Clarion. The couple farmed near Clarion and east of Eagle Grove. They retired and moved to Eagle Grove in 1944. He died in 1962.
Mrs. Bethell worked for the Eagle Grove school system for 20 years, and for the Four Seasons Resort at Big Winnie Lake, Minn. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, the Eagle Grove Senior Citizens, United Methodist Women, and the Royal Neighbors.
Myrtle Alice Bethell died December 8, 1991, at her home in Eagle Grove. She had attained the age of 85 years, two months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Arthur, John and George; and three sisters, Agnes Ashton, Edna Veech, and Frances Horsak. She is survived by her son James, St. Cloud, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Margaret) Elkin, Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Don (Frances) Adams, of Sherburn, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held December 11 at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove with the Rev. Scott C. Hall officiating at the 10:30 a.m. services. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, were in charge of arrangements.
