Mrs. H. Worra, who has been ill for nearly a year, died Thursday afternoon and was laid at rest Saturday in the Lutheran cemetery, southwest of town. Mrs. Worra was a very patient sufferer, and all that medical science and loving hands could do had been done for her, but in vain. In her taking away a large family of children lose the protecting and loving care of a mother, the husband a faithful wife, and the community a noble christian character. Hers was a life that was surely worthy of emulation. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their hour of affliction.

GONE TO HER REWARD

There is universal grief felt and expressed upon the death of Mrs. H. Worra which occurred at her home Thursday evening, July 25, 1901, aged 53 years, 4 months, 28 days. Funeral services, which were held at the Norwegian church of which the deceased was a consistent member, were conducted by Rev. Holm, who at the conclusion of his sermon spoke briefly, but in a most beautiful manner of the noble christian character of the deceased. Numerous floral tributes and a large attendance testified the respect in which she was held.

Miss Anna Serina Hanson was born the 27th of February, 1848, at Skjold, Norway, and when nine years old moved with her parents to America and settled at Ottawa, Lasalle Co., Illinois, where they live for ten years. In February, 1867, she was married to Halvor Larson and removed to Pontiac, Ill. To this union were born two children, the older a daughter, who died when an infant, and the younger a son, who now resides at Pontiac.

During the civil war her husband contracted the dread disease consumption which worked its way to death, which occurred in 1870. In January, 1873, she was married to H. Worra and lived at Pontiac for nineteen years, when they moved to Holmes, where they resided at the time of her death. In this marriage were nine children, who with the husband are left to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and loving mother. She has been in poor health for many years, but for the last ten months has been confined to her bed. She has borne it all with patience and courage, displaying the same characteristic which in health endeared her to all with whom she was associated. She was of a lovable disposition, quiet and unassuming in manner, and faithful to her duties, family and friends. Her loss is indeed a sad one for the husband and children, who have now only the memory of her kindly acts in the place of her cheerful presence.

Many and bright shall be the stare in the crown of the faithful wife and loving mother, who has so nobly finished the work committed to her hands.
