Robert L. “Bob” Locke
November 11, 1950 ---– January 4, 2021

Age 70, of Omaha, NE; raised in Clarion, IA. Preceded in death by parents, Ethel and Robert Locke; father-in-law, Donald Watts; brothers-in-law, Nick Nail and Tom Deimerly. Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debra; his children, Jessica (Dinand Tinholt) Locke, Jeanette (Robert Schneider) Locke, Abby (Zachary Sherman) Locke; grandchildren: Ava, Olivia, Florence, and Nolan; sisters, Becky Deimerly and Julie Nail; sister-in-law, Vicki (Lynn) Erickson, mother-in-law, Darlene Watts; and nieces and nephew.

VISITATION observing CDC Guidelines: Tuesday, January 12th from 10am to 12noon at the West Center Chapel, with FUNERAL SERVICE at 12noon. Interment: Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Bennington Fire and Rescue.

Robert “Bob” Locke, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 4th. Bob was born on November 11, 1950, in Fort Dodge, IA to Robert and Ethel Locke. Bob was raised in Clarion, IA, and was the brother to Becky and Julie. Bob obtained a bachelors degree from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. He then went on to work for Walgreens for more than 40 years. Bob met the love of his life, Debra Watts, in Clarion, IA, whom he married in 1974 and with who he shared 48 years of blessed marriage. In 1981, they moved to Omaha, NE, where they raised three wonderful daughters, Jessica, Jeanette, and Abby.

Bob was a dedicated family man who delighted in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He thoroughly enjoyed his annual trip to Lake Okoboji with his family. Always a youthful soul, Bob traded in his motorcycle for a jet ski in later years. He also enjoyed traveling, discovering the beauty and culture of numerous countries in Europe on multiple trips there. Bob also shared his love of sun and water with his family on multiple beach vacations.

Bob can best be described as a dependable foundation for his family. He was generous with his time, hard-working, loyal, and could always be counted on to offer help. He was welcoming and open. He was a true rock to his family. Looking at pictures from Bob’s life, what is striking is the ever-present smile on his face, showing the joy he felt in the multitude of experiences of daily life. He was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He considered this the true richness of his life, which he treasured every day. Bob will be deeply missed by his family.
