David Leslie Hinkley
2 May 1914 ---- 27 January 1984

David L. Hinkley, 69, of Capitola, Calif, died early Friday morning, Jan. 27, 1984. He was born in Eagle Grove, the son of Guy and Olive Hinkley. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School and at­tended the University of Iowa. He was a veteran of World War II. He assisted his father in Leuthold-Hinkley clothing store and later moved to Palo Alto, Calif where he operated an exclusive men's store in the first shopping mall in Palo Alto. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three children by a previous marriage, Diane Tenney of New York; David of Los Angeles, and Cathy, of Cupertino; six grandchildren; twin sisters, Dorothy Hinkley Middleton and Lucille Hinkley Johnson both of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. His body will be cremated and the ashes strewn over Carmel Bay.
