Clyde Morris Sims
13 June 1886 --- 30 September 1979

Clyde Morris Sims was born June 13, 1886, at Shoals, Ind., the son of William and Sada Holsapple Sims. He was educated in the West Union Country School.

Clyde was united in marriage to Ethel Marley on December 27, 1908, in her home at Trinity Springs. This union was blessed with two children, Paul, and Edna. They farmed near Dover Hill, Ind., for two and a half years before coming to Iowa in 1911. They started farming in Troy Township in Wright County in 1912.

Clyde retired in 1958 and moved into Eagle Grove. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Bower 464 AF & AM.

Clyde passed away at the Clarion Care Center on Sept. 30, 1979, at the age of 93 years, three months, and 17 days. He has been a resident of the center since February of 1979. Mrs. Sims passed away on Jan. 29, 1973.

Survivors are: one son, Dr. Paul Sims, Clarion; one daughter; Mrs. Murry (Edna) Coleman, Dallas, Tex.; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; one brother, Curtis Sims, Shoals, Ind. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, three brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services were Friday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Callen officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
