Harriet May Stanbery
18 March 1915 ---- 9 March 1989

Funeral services for Harriet May Stanbery, 73, a lifelong Clarion resident, were held on Saturday morning, March 11, 1989 at First United Methodist Church in Clarion. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery and Rev. Jerald G. Swanberg officiated. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Harriet died shortly after being taken by Mercy Air-Life to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on March 9, 1989. Honorary casket bearers were : Leonard Cramer, Mike Prehm and Mark Dean. Bearers were: Raymond and Robert Deimerly, Skeez Hartsock, William Keenan, Dean Robson and Lyle Stromquist. Betty Loomis was the organist.

Harriet was born at Clarion on March 18, 1915 and was the daughter of Harry M. and Ruth Mae Campbell Stanbery. She graduated from Clarion High School in 1934 and then attended beauty school in Des Moines. For many years she operated a shop in Clarion.

Survivors include two brothers: Dr. William H. Stanbery of Iowa Falls and Ross C. Stanbery of Clarion, a niece, Becky Kirks and a grand niece, Taylor Dirks both of Paris, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Harriet was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church Women. She also belonged to their Clarion V.F.W. Auxiliary
