Clara Krog, 81, of Vincent, died December 6, 2018, at her home in the loving care of her family. The service honoring Clara’s life will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, at South Enes Lutheran Church in Vincent, with the Rev. Susan Stone officiating. Interment will be in Newark Township Cemetery. The visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to South Enes Lutheran Church or Vincent Fire Department.

Clara is survived by her children, Kathie (Greg) Rogers, Crane, MO; Daniel Krog, Vincent; and Davyd (Stephanie) Krog, What Cheer, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Bryan and Tyler Lloyd, Sarah (Shawn) Schmitt, Justin Krog, Kaila (Adam) Krog Shrader, James (Mariah) and Emily Krog; and two great grandchildren, Bently and Briella Krog; her siblings, Terry (Joy) Traster, Darold (Colleen) Traster, Steve (Juline) Traster and Barbra Jean McClelland; several nieces and nephews; and special honorary daughters and sons, Solvi (Johnny) Leseth, Norway; Gianfranco Santillo, Brazil; and Laura (Rob) Crowe, Shiloh, OH; and all of their families along with many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son Derek, and a brother Roy William Traster.

Clara, the daughter of Roy and Amy (Scribner) Traster, was born April 4, 1937, in Decatur, Illinois. On March 26, 1960, Clara was united in marriage to Donald Krog at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Clara was a member of South Enes Lutheran Church where she served on the church council. She enjoyed dancing, music and church activities. Over the many years, Don and Clara cared for many foster children and exchange students. They enjoyed traveling together both abroad and around the United States. In 1977, Clara traveled to Japan with Bridge of Fellowship. Don and Clara traveled to Brazil to attend Gianfranco’s graduation from medical school. They also traveled to Norway, England and Scotland. Most importantly, Clara treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
