Flora "Jeanie" Beachy

October 12, 1942 ---- November 26, 2018

Jeanie Beachy passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at her home in Climax Springs, Mo. A memorial service will be held on Dec. 12, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Evening Shade Mennonite Church in Warsaw, Mo.

Jeanie was born Flora Jean Martin on Oct. 12, 1942, and was married to Ernie Beachy on June 4, 1961. Jeanie and Ernie lived in Kalona and Clarion [Iowa] and she had a lifelong passion for Iowa where they had many friends. She also liked traveling in the motorhome, and had a passion for cleaning and helping people. Jeanie would just shake her head when Ernie would take their sons and engage in less-than-safe activities such as flying ultralights, riding motorcycles, or “riding the rails” with a car. The activities were always accompanied with the constant admonition of “don’t tell your mother.”

But she knew, she knew it all along. She was smart that way.

Jeanie, as she was known by family, friends and, well, just about everybody, never went by her first name. She thought, correctly, that she was more than just plant life. She was guided throughout her life by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in whose arms she now resides.

Jeanie is survived by her husband of 57 years: Ernie; as well as their four boys: Marty (Lisa) of Tullahoma, Tenn., LaVern (Julie) of Carroll, Iowa, Darren (Dede) of Chilton, Wisc., and Evan of Des Moines; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father and mother: Walter and Ruth; and sister: Helen.
