November 10, 1905 --- April 10, 1961

Mr. Anton (Tony) Zander of Herman, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, April 10th at the age of 56. Mr. Zander was born in Denmark on November 10, 1905. He was married in Blair to Bessie Green after coming to the United States and they were the parents of two sons, Raymond of Concord, California, and Charles of Waterloo, Nebraska. Mr. Zander was the manager of the Holmquist Elevator for a number of years and was also employed at the Christensen Lumber Company. Mr. and Mrs. Zander have resided in Herman the past few years and Mr. Zander has been a warehouseman for Champlin Oil Co.

Besides his wife and sons he is survived by six grandchildren. Also four brothers, Chris Zander of California; Jens Zander of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and two brothers, Jacob and Otto of Denmark, and three sisters, Jensena, Alma and Nina, also of Denmark. The Campbell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The funeral services will be in the First Lutheran Church in Blair at 2 P.M. on Friday, April 14th. The Rev. George Pallesen will officiate band burial will be in the Blair cemetery. The Masonic Lodge of Craig will have graveside services. Pallbearers will be Jens Krogh, George Edwards, Marlin Matzen, Ed Thompson, Ward Cummings of Blair and Roy Rosenbaum of Kennard.
