Francis (Francie) Ervin DENCKLAU

Francis E. Dencklau, 81, of Vincent, died Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20th at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Ft. Dodge with Rev. Bill Van Nostrand officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Survivors include his son Gerry Dencklau and wife Cathy of Fort Dodge and their children, David Dencklau of Denton, TX and his son Blake, Marti Dencklau, Timmi Dencklau, Scot Dencklau, all of Fort Dodge, son, Brett Dencklau of Vincent and his children, Jessica Dencklau and her daughter, Aurora, Jennifer Dencklau; step-granddaughter Justine Dencklau and her son Christian, all of Cedar Falls, and son Jesse Farhat of Webster City; sister, Luella Hinderks of Webster City; brothers, Dennis Dencklau and Gerald Dencklau and wife Merry Jo, all of Fort Dodge; sister-in-law, Doris Higgins of Humboldt; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Dencklau; his parents, Edmund and Elfrieda Dencklau, his brother Leo; sister-in-law, Emma Jean Dencklau; father and mother-in-law, Glenn and Katherine (Mannel) Reynolds; his brother-in-laws, Dwight Reynolds of Gowrie and Richard of Rolfe; brother-in-law, Dennis Hinderks.

Francis E. Dencklau was born June 7, 1937 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge. He attended school at Colfax #3 in Vincent through 8th grade when he began working full time on the family farm. On January 24, 1959 he was united in marriage to Sara J. Reynolds at Grace Lutheran Church and they established their home on a farm in the Vincent/Duncombe area. Francis worked on the family farm for many years and as a brick tender for Woodruff and Evans during the winters. He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church in Vincent. Francis had a passion for playing cards and especially enjoyed playing pitch and 500 with family and friends. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in all their activities. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
