Pauline Thompson Gorden
24 May 1891 ---- 19 June 1943

Pauline Thompson was born on May 23, 1891, at Hadeland, Norway [Gran kommune, Oppland fylke], and died at Eagle Grove, Iowa, on June 19, 1943, at the age of 52 years and 27 days. She received the Christian baptism, was taught the way of salvation in Jesus Christ, and confessed her Christian faith in her youth. When she was about 15 years of age she came to America.

She was married to Joseph Biondahl and lived on their farm home. Mr. Biondahl died, leaving her with a little son, Manly. She was married to Sam Gorden, August 8, 1917. Mr. and Mrs. Gorden have lived in the vicinity of Forest City and Eagle Grove, and in March, this year, they moved in to Eagle Grove. She is now survived by her husband, Sam Gorden, and by the son from her first marriage, Manly Biondahl, and by one son, Sanford Gorden, also by five daughters: Geneva, Bernice, Sylvia, June and Betty Lou. Also by four grandchildren, and by one brother, Hans Thompson, and three sisters, Mrs. Helge Vorland of Hardy, and by two sisters still in Norway.

Mrs. Gorden was a quiet and unassuming lady, a sympathetic and patient wife and mother. For many years she struggled with sickness and patiently bore other condition, which confined her to her home, and now for some time to her bed. She was thankful for the devotional service.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Kubitschek and Kastler funeral home, and from the Eagle Grove Evangelical church. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
